Guwahati: Owing to the steady and alarming cases of COVID-19 in Manipur, the state government has decided to extend the complete lockdown till August 15.

The entire state of Manipur was under complete lockdown from 30 July till 6 August to contain the spread of the deadly virus COVID 19. However, the COVID-19 graph has continued to rise upwards.

Newer cases of COVID-19 have surfaced in the state during this lockdown and the fact that these new cases do not have any travel history has put the state government in a spot of bother.

During this period, the lockdown restrictions shall be lifted in a staggered manner so as to make the people's lives a bit easier.

In this period of Manipur lockdown, the home delivery of essential items shall be allowed. Moreover, locality-based retail shops are allowed to open between 8 AM to 12 PM.

Additionally, wholesale shops are allowed to open on all days except Sunday between 10 AM to 3 PM.

All goods vehicles are allowed to ply and shops for truck repairs and dhabas on highways are allowed to open.

All health-related institutions are allowed to function. All vehicles and people related to essential services are allowed. Vehicles with medical emergencies shall also be allowed on the roads.
